Sham Kamikaze, born Shamril Salleh, emerges as an influential figure in the Malaysian music scene, celebrated not only for his exceptional guitar skills but also for his role as a music producer, composer, arranger, and guitar sessionist. Born into a musical family in 1976, ShamKamikaze's journey commenced at the age of 12 when he first embraced the guitar, swiftly progressing to playing in bands by the age of 14.
A connoisseur of various musical genres, Sham Kamikaze's passion for the guitar led him to the prestigious Guitar Institute of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, where he later assumed a teaching position. His dedication to honing his craft propelled him to back major artists within and beyond Malaysia, setting the stage for his future endeavors.
In 1999, Sham Kamikaze founded Kamikaze, a musical endeavor that resulted in the release of three highly acclaimed albums - "Kontroversi," "Inspirasi," and "3." Notably, all three albums received nominations at the Anugerah Industri Muzik, with "Inspirasi" earning the esteemed Best Rock Album award in 2001.
Sham Kamikaze's musical odyssey took a significant turn between 2018 and 2020 when he engaged in a two-year-long research and development collaboration with Ray of Shue Guitars. The focus of this collaboration was the creation of Sham Kamikaze's own signature pickups. This meticulous process aimed to encapsulate Sham Kamikaze's unique preferences and comfort, resulting in the unveiling of the Shue Sham Kamikaze Signature Guitar in 2020.
Despite owning over 50 high-end guitars from various renowned brands, Sham Kamikaze found himself drawn to his Shue Signature Guitar. The instrument, a product of the extensive R&D period, perfectly aligned with his preferences and offered unparalleled comfort. It became his go-to guitar for most of his shows, underscoring the significance of the collaboration with Shue Guitars.
As a testament to the success of the collaboration, ShamKamikaze proudly carries and plays his Shue Signature Guitar while touring extensively. Currently, he is an integral part of the 60+ World Tour with the iconic God of Mandarin Pop, Jacky Cheung. This global tour, estimated to extend into 2025, showcases the synergy between Sham Kamikaze's signature sound and the craftsmanship of Shue Guitars, blending seamlessly in the world of music.
In addition to his collaboration with Shue Guitars, Sham Kamikaze holds the prestigious title of the only Fender Ambassador in Malaysia. This status speaks to his global impact as a guitarist and recognition within the international music community. As a Fender Ambassador, he represents the brand with distinction, showcasing the versatility and quality synonymous with Fender guitars.
