Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD/CAM Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 2D and 3D models and programming CNC machines using CAD/CAM software. You will collaborate with engineers, machinists, and project managers to ensure high-quality and efficient production of components and tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and modify detailed 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
Generate CAM programs for CNC milling, turning, and EDM machines using software like Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX.
Optimize tool paths and machining processes for efficiency and quality.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
Maintain documentation and records of designs, revisions, and programs.
Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
2+ years of experience in CAD/CAM design and CNC programming.
Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in [insert specific industry, e.g., injection molding, aerospace, automotive].
Knowledge of post-processing and G-code customization.
Familiarity with ERP systems or production scheduling tools.
