Kenyon Reed Signature 'The Forest'
Kenyon's description about his signature guitar:
The Forest guitar is somehow louder and bolder than any other guitar I have played, but is also more dynamic than any other guitar. It can accomplish my signature clean tones with more ease and fullness and can also harness edgy breakup tone quickly with just one simple drive on.
The Malaysian Mamywoo wood is very apparent with how smooth the mid range is. And yet it also has clear and round low end. The top end is defined and rich but never gets harsh. It literally accomplishes the best of all EQ scenarios and not a thing needs to be changed when it is fresh out of the case.

Kenyon Reed Signature – The Forest
A Century of Wood. The Power of Nature. A Guitar with a Soul.
The Forest is the official signature solid-body electric guitar of Kenyon Reed, lead guitarist of Bethel Church / Bethel Music. Inspired by the resilience of Malaysia’s mangrove forests, this instrument unites rare century-old tonewood, refined craftsmanship, and the artistic voice of one of today’s most expressive worship guitarists.
Inspired by the Heart of the Forest
The body is finished in a deep, expressive Forest Green, capturing the strength, depth, and serenity of untouched nature.
Wrapped in Flame Maple binding, the natural figuring flows like an improvised melody—echoing Kenyon Reed’s vibrant and soulful playing style.
Custom-Tuned Pickups for Kenyon Reed
Designed and voiced exclusively for Kenyon:
- Fast, articulate dynamic response
- Warm yet transparent midrange
- Exceptional clarity and punch for live environments
- The pickup cover is crafted from Acacia, a wood symbolizing courage and strength, adding character, presence, and definition to the guitar’s tonal identity.
A Body Made from a Century-Old Jelutong Tree
At the soul of The Forest lies a remarkable story. Its body is carved from 100-year-old Jelutong, sourced from Malaysia’s Forest Research Institute (FRIM):
- Planted during the British colonial era (circa 1925–1929)
- Naturally grown for nearly a century
- Fallen due to natural causes in January 2025
- Preserved and reborn through the craftsmanship of Shue Guitars
Every vibration awakens a century of wind, soil, and silent forest memory.
Fingerboard of Rare Malaysian Blackwood
- Unique natural grain patterns—no two fingerboards are ever the same
- Warm, smooth tactile response with rich note clarity
- Inlays crafted from Genuine Blue Opal, shimmering under shifting light like waves along a mangrove coastline
- A fingerboard that feels alive beneath your hands.
Made with Nature in Mind. Created for Music.
From our first meeting with Kenyon in March 2025 to the final refinements,
'The Forest' became more than a signature guitar—it became:
Nature × Time × Artistry
Every detail carries story and intention.
When you strike the strings, you experience not just sound, but the echo of a living forest.
